What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?
As an NTP, I am trained to view the body as a whole group of systems that function together. I have deep knowledge of how the systems should function, and I am trained to identify and troubleshoot dysfunction. We all have unique, bio-individual needs, and our genes will respond differently to various foods and lifestyles. However, there are certain fundamental factors, known as the Six Foundations of Health, that must be in balance to experience optimal wellness. My studies were guided by a three pronged approach in supporting foundational health: ancestral wisdom, experiential knowledge, and scientific research.
I see symptoms as signs that point to where things are out of balance. I dive deep into these symptoms using a 320 question analysis and a 4 day food and mood journal. I also conduct a private consultation with you, where you have a safe space to talk about what you are experiencing and how that is impacting your life. Taking your medical history and current health status into consideration, I combine all of this information to pinpoint potential root causes and deficiencies that you may be experiencing.
Through both a holistic and ancestral food-first approach, targeted supplementation (when necessary) and gentle lifestyle recommendations, I work with you to honor your bio-individuality in the healing process. Wellness is not “one-size fits all.” We all have unique bodies with distinct genetics, varied histories, and different goals.
I specialize in helping people who feel like they eat “healthy” but are frustrated with having no energy, digestive issues, and frequent illness, to gain clarity into their symptoms so they have the drive to pursue their passions, and experience life with true wellness. These are all symptoms that I once thought I had to live with, and could not seem to find relief no matter how healthy I thought I was eating.
Other symptoms that NTP’s can help with include:
*general inflammation
*achy joints
*gut issues like leaky gut, bloating, gas, constipation, and IBS
*chronic fatigue and brain fog
*immune dysfunction and autoimmune conditions
*Hormonal imbalances like menopause, inconsistent periods, coming off birth control
*sleep irregularity or disturbances
*mood swings, anxiety, and depression
*skin issues like dry skin, rashes
*emotional and physical stress management
Together, we will address the foundations that contribute to overall health. Sometimes people are set and ready to go after one session. Many people are dealing with issues that require more healing time, different approaches, and continued support. Whatever your needs are, I am here to to support you on that journey to foundational wellness.
